Racing LapTimer works without an account. Lap sessions and preferences are stored locally in your browser, and you decide when to share or delete them.
What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Racing LapTimer processes information when you use the web application at racinglaptimer.com. It applies to the timer, locally saved lap history, settings, the usage guide and other pages on this website.
Short answer: timing data is processed in your browser. Racing LapTimer does not require an account and does not upload your saved lap sessions to our servers.
Data stored on your device
The application uses browser storage so your preferences and saved sessions remain available when you return on the same device and in the same browser.
- App preferences: selected visual theme, sport mode, delta comparison mode, haptic preference and keep-awake preference.
- Saved sessions: lap durations, lap numbers, session start and save times, selected sport and total session time.
- Legacy migration: if an older Racing LapTimer history exists in the same browser, the app may convert it to the current local format.
This information remains on your device unless you actively use a browser or device feature that synchronizes browser data.
Technical data and server logs
Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may process technical request data needed to deliver and protect the service. This can include an IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, referrer, timestamp, response status and security signals.
We use this information to keep the website available, diagnose errors, prevent abuse and understand aggregate performance. It is not combined with your locally saved lap history by the Racing LapTimer application.
Analytics and cookies
On the production website, analytics services may receive visit and device information to help us understand aggregate website usage and performance. The current website can load Google Analytics and StatCounter. These providers may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies.
Racing LapTimer does not currently load Google ad-serving code in the renewed application. If advertising is introduced later, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before activation.
Sharing a session
Sharing happens only when you choose the Share action. The app prepares a plain-text summary and hands it to your browser's native share feature, or copies it to your clipboard when native sharing is unavailable. The destination you select then processes that information under its own privacy terms.
Retention and deletion
Locally saved sessions remain in your browser until you delete them, clear site data or remove the browser profile. Racing LapTimer lets you remove individual sessions or clear the full Lap History.
Hosting, security and analytics providers may keep technical data for their own documented retention periods. We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for operation, security and applicable legal obligations.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection relating to personal data processed by the site operator. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Because lap history is stored locally and is not linked to an account, the fastest way to remove it is through Lap History or your browser's site-data controls.
Children's privacy
Racing LapTimer is a general-audience timing tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly offer account registration to children.

We may update this policy when the application, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top shows the latest material revision.
